March 2023

March Recap and April News

March 2023:

March continued to bring us some much-needed rain, which allowed us to enjoy more indoor classroom time. For March, the children all enjoyed exploring dinosaurs! They talked about the different dinosaurs that roamed the earth many years ago and the fossils left behind. The children loved the new dinosaur matching cards, fossil excavating, and so much more with the fantastic materials their teachers created. The continent of the month was Africa. The children loved learning about this large continent with many countries, from Egypt to South Africa. With so many different countries, cultures, languages, animals, and discoveries, many dinosaur fossils have been found in Africa; this month has been filled with so much discovery! Many children were amazed to learn about what animals are from Africa, like the African Elephant, camels, lions, and so much more!

We had so much with Dr. Seuss's week and celebrated literacy this month! The children and staff had so much fun with this silly week while focusing on the importance of reading and learning.

St. Patty's Day was another fun day where we wore green on this traditional Irish holiday. Unfortunately, the classrooms had no success catching that mischievous Lenny the Leprechaun, but the children enjoyed some goodies left behind.

We had our spring book fair in March. Seeing how excited the children got when they saw all the books in the office to explore was terrific. Thanks to the parents for your continued support of the book fair! It couldn't have been as successful without you!

April 2023:

In April, we are proud to announce our Spanish Inspired primary classroom opening with Ms. Lilia, a long-time Montessorian. Ms. Lilia will lead the class as she will join us in May. We are so excited to bring this program to our community! Please reach out to the office if you would like more information.

Now that Spring is officially here, we welcome the warmer weather! We look forward to an explosive month of April! For April, the classrooms will explore the continent of Australia, including New Zealand and the Pacific Islands and volcanoes. The children will discover what makes an island and the different types of volcanoes.
