In addition to our rich Montessori Curriculum, for children who are enrolled in our extended day, we offer five different programs: Spanish, Computers, Cooking, Art and Music. There is no additional cost to participate.
Children use ABCMouse curriculum to learn how to use a mouse, tablet and follow a learning path that aligns with the Montessori learning method. Each week is a new lesson and adventure. Each child’s progress is individual and parents can access a portion from home to interact and engage with their child’s progress.
The students will spend each month learning about a new Artist and their style of art. They will learn about the artist life. They will also explore different art mediums, as well as projects related to the seasons, themes and holidays. The teachers will help children have positive experience with art appreciation and expression.
Each week, children will engage in different cooking experiences that promote healthy and child-friendly projects. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, measuring, mixing, baking and preparation. Children will explore foods from around the world associated with the geography unit for the month. They will try new foods and share meals and snacks with their peers. By including them in the process, children are more likely to be confident and safe in the kitchen, as well as excited about food and cooking as they get older.
Each month, the students will learn about a different composer from history. They will learn about their life and spend time listening to some of their more popular pieces during music and class time. Children will explore different musical instruments, rhythms and beats. Music, movement and signing are also part of our Spanish Enrichment Program.
Gardening helps to cultivate a love for nature, nurture curiosity, and foster a sense of responsibility in young learners. This hands-on program allows children to explore the wonders of gardening through a series of engaging activities that integrate science, art, and social skills. Each week, children participate in age-appropriate gardening tasks such as planting seeds, watering plants, and observing growth. Guided by our Enrichment and Primary teachers, they learn about different types of plants, soil health, and the importance of ecosystems. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, encouraging children to explore their environment, ask questions, and develop critical thinking skills.
