September News

This summer was about preparing our school for a September 1st start date. We were busy remodeling, setting up classrooms, hiring teachers, getting licensed, and creating a safe environment where students could learn and grow. Everything had fallen right into place, and our campus looked terrific. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continued to get everything done in time. We are ready to open our doors and create a new school community!
During September, the students will focus on celebrating themselves. The class curriculum for all programs will include them learning All About Me. The literature for the month will center around The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. We feel this story is a great one to start with as we start a new school year. The book explains how a mother raccoon comforts her child raccoon while he starts a new school. Our geography component is all about the continents. Students will learn a continent song and do various activities about the seven continents. All students will practice grace and courtesy skills (i.e., greetings, cleaning up, pushing their chairs in, etc.). For our primary class in zoology, students will learn about the needs of animals and how to care for them. In science, the topic will be centered around magnetic vs. nonmagnetic and sink vs. float. Lastly, we are excited to start our enrichment program for our pre-primary and primary full-day extended students. Our enrichment program offers students the opportunity to enhance their art, music, cooking, Spanish, and computer skills.
Here is to a great month!
